Quality Control

Our Process

From raw material selection to final dispatch — every step is monitored, tested and documented.

01

Raw Material Analysis

Incoming base oils and additives are chemically analysed before entering production. Only materials meeting our specifications are accepted.

02

Precision Blending

Formulations are blended under controlled temperature conditions using calibrated equipment to ensure consistency across every batch.

03

Laboratory Testing

Each batch is tested for viscosity, flash point, pour point, TBN and other critical parameters in our accredited on-site laboratory.

04

Certification & Dispatch

Only batches passing all tests receive a Certificate of Analysis and are cleared for packaging and delivery to our distribution network.

FAQ

Frequently Asked

What does the oil viscosity grade (e.g. 10W40) mean?
The first number (e.g. 10W) indicates cold-temperature performance — a lower number flows better in the cold. The second number (e.g. 40) defines the oil's viscosity at operating temperature (100°C). A "W" stands for "Winter". Multi-grade oils like 10W40 work across a wide temperature range.
How often should I change my engine oil?
Typically every 10,000–15,000 km for modern synthetic oils, or as specified in your vehicle's manual. Older vehicles or severe driving conditions (towing, short trips, extreme temperatures) may require more frequent changes. Always check your owner's manual first.
What is the difference between mineral and synthetic oil?
Mineral oils are refined from crude oil and are suitable for older engines and standard applications. Synthetic oils are engineered molecules offering superior thermal stability, lower evaporation losses and better protection at extreme temperatures. Semi-synthetic oils combine both for a balanced performance/cost option.
Can I mix different grades or brands of oil?
Mixing the same viscosity grade from different brands in an emergency is acceptable short-term but not recommended as a regular practice. Never mix different viscosity grades in the same system. For best performance always use a single product continuously.
What does ACEA and API classification mean?
ACEA (Association des Constructeurs Européens d'Automobiles) is the European standard defining engine oil performance categories. API (American Petroleum Institute) is the North American equivalent. OEMs like Mercedes, BMW and VW additionally publish their own specific approval sequences that go beyond these standards.
Do you provide Technical Data Sheets for your products?
Yes. A Technical Data Sheet (TDS) is available for every Selective product. Click any product card, open the modal and use the "Download TDS" button to generate and save a formatted PDF with full specifications, certifications and application guidelines.
Which Selective products are suitable for elevators?
Selective offers a complete solution for elevator maintenance. SUPER ISO 32/46/68/100 hydraulic oil is used in hydraulic elevator systems. Lithium Grease (NLGI 2/3) lubricates guide rails, pulleys and bearings. Calcium Grease LS3 is ideal for wire ropes and cables. For traction elevator gearboxes, ULTRA SYNTH TECH 75W90 or SUPER 80W90 are recommended.
How often should elevator lubricants be serviced?
For hydraulic elevator oil, inspect every 6 months and replace every 2–3 years depending on usage. Guide rail grease should be reapplied every 3–6 months. Gearbox oil in traction elevators typically requires replacement every 2 years. Always follow the elevator manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
